Tulevaisuuskylä event at Tampere Keskustori from the 2nd to 3rd of September 2011

What effects will climate change have on Tampere in 2050? Do you want to save the planet but feel that your own actions are too small? Tulevaisuuskylä (”Future Village”) event at Tampere Keskustori (”Central Square”) 2-3.9.2011, shares information about climate change and a sustainable lifestyle. At the Tulevaisuuskylä discussion panels will face each other some youngsters and urban designers, activists and business professionals, scientists of the future and ethnologists. The event challenges a set of different people to build their sustainable future together.

Step into the village where self-supporting lifestyle meets future technology. Will there be victims of climate disaster or happy eco city residents in Tulevaisuuskylä? Get information on eco-efficient housing, food, transport and energy. In our workshops you will learn many things ranging from how to build your own wind generator to flaying. Tulevaisuuskylä offers something for all ages: Tulevaisuuden Tampere (”Tampere in the Future”) live action role-play for 13-15 year olds, champion hut construction for 7-12 year olds and Ekokeksijät (”Eco Inventors”) literary art path for children below 6 year olds. The evening will culminate to Huominen on täällä jossain (”Tomorrow is here somewhere”) video projection screening on the Town Hall wall. Take part to build the future!

The Tulevaisuuskylä event is part of Tulevaisuuskylä project which contributes national sustainable development strategies. In 2011 the project will organize a series of film screenings and workshops, among other things. More information about the event will be published here later.
